Chattastangs Car Club is Born!
Yesterday, I created a Facebook page, Twitter handle (@Chattastangs) and Instagram (@Chattastangs) account for Chattastangs Car Club. Creating a car club has been on my radar for many years, but I've just now gotten to the point where I am ready to launch something concrete. It's in its infancy, no doubt, but I think there is a recipe for success here in the Chattanooga area for a club devoted to the iconic Ford Mustang. I personally own a 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost.
The purpose or mission of the club, as it exists today, is for local owners of Mustangs of all years and models to come together to be social, meeting each other at local restaurants and coffee shops to support local businesses, to eventually raise money for charities, to win free stuff and more. Via social media, members can also feature their cars, modifications they've made, etc. The idea is to pay a yearly membership fee and realize various benefits as a result. I would like to focus on recruiting members of all ages and backgrounds in order to support the market and appeal to a mass audience within 50 miles of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The motivation for creating this is based on my love for cars in general, but especially the iconic Mustang. I am a huge fan of the original 64-65 models, as well as a few others within the last half decade. After they released the latest 2015+ model - I had to have one! As the picture shows below, it's really a work of art as far as American cars go.
One thing I have always noticed about spotting Mustangs in the wild is the diversity of their appearance, differences in how people modify their performance, and the sheer amount of them on the road today. I thought I was pretty special when I first bought mine almost two years ago, then I quickly realized the model was selling like hotcakes. I saw the opportunity to create a family of sorts around a brand, so I am pursuing this car club to find like-minded people.
It may not be successful - perhaps starting a car club is harder than it seems - but it's something for which I already have passion and interest in making it so. I want to create an inclusive atmosphere where people who would not normally join a car club will end up doing so, and will also receive legitimate value as a result.
